Buxton Railway Station
Led by Paul Blurton a visit to view and walk sections of the former Cromford and High Peak Railway . The walking distance is approximately six miles.
The Group will meet at Buxton Railway Station at 11.00 a.m. following arrival, at 10.49 a.m. of the 09.49 train departure from Manchester Piccadilly (also departs Stockport at 10.01). Note these train times may change in the May 2017 timetable. From Buxton a coach will be available to transport the group to Parsley Hay, where there will be time for a comfort break. The itinerary will be to view and walk the parts of the former line between Friden, Gotham, Minninglow station (bring a packed lunch), Minninglow embankments and then towards Longcliffe, viewing the brickworks below Minninglow Hill, leaving the railway track bed to view the Pump House at Royston Grange before returning to the coach at Minninglow station.
The coach will be available for the return journey from Minninglow to Buxton Station: estimated arrival there is 4.30 p.m.
